Missouri River fishing report and current weather

Current weather in Great Falls and Craig Montana

Bill fishing the canyon on the upper missouri

A friend casting to a bank sipper.

Spring is HERE!

Spring is here on the Missouri. Midges are covering the water bank to bank. Fishing is good on the warmer days, nymphing is going strong with "pink things", and midges. The water is clear, and cold , but the fish are still feeding, just not moving very far to do it.The Baetis have started, and there are a few March Browns aound. Fishing should really improve as soon as the Rainbows are done spawning. That should be for the most part around the 10th of May.If you choose to try a streamer, and get a brown trout of a life time, remember to fish it slow,.On the Mo the fish like to eat "leeches", black, and Crayfish, "brownish orange", also sick minnows, white or grey...Stay warm, and good luck!

Look close and you can see that this is me holding a large rainbow, the shot is taken below the surface of the river.
